They are designed for Safety! This is NOT a break-away collar. The center "O" ring collar is designed to roll and give a dog a better chance to escape if the collar were to become tangled in brush or fence.

Fitted with a highly polished nickel-plated die-cast buckle, solid welded steel ring, and smooth capped rivets, this collar also has the added benefit of a dee-ring near the buckle attaching tags.

This collar has the added benefit of a D-ring so that you can attach your tags to the D-ring. Because the o-ring stays on the back, you won't have to reach to the front of your collar to fasten your leash. This rugged webbed collar is for active dogs and is just as beautiful every day. If this is your dog's first collar, or you need a collar in a different size, measure around the dog's neck with an allowance for two fingers to fit between the dog and the collar. The collar shouldn't be so tight that it will cause discomfort or so loose that it slides over the dog’s head.
