Measure around the dog's neck with an allowance for two fingers to fit between the dog and the collar. The collar should be tight enough to be comfortable but not so loose that it slides over the dog’s head.

Leather is a natural product that will last a long time with proper care and cleaning. Cleaning with leather care products is a good idea, and leather conditioners are recommended on an occasional basis. Both Leather cleaners and conditioners are sold in most shoe stores.
